Oliver

When "Oliver" was first brought over from the Congo by Frank and Janet Burger (well known animal trainers) no one would believe what they had found: a hybrid of man and chimpanzee, a "humanzee"! His unusual personality and habits, shocked the world during the 70s when he was exhibited in the Ed Sullivan Show; what amazed everyone was his incredibly human-like facial features, light eye color, pattern boldness and soft voice. He had gestures incredibly similar to humans; in fact, he walked upright unlike other apes and never was trained to walk upright. Oliver preferred the company of humans, and was sexually attracted to human females. Some of his habits were having a morning coffee, an evening cocktail and he often mixed his own drinks. He also began doing chores spontaneously like using a wheelbarrow when the loads were too heavy. He would feed the animals, overcome obstacles and used his logic to find solutions. Until 1996 Oliver lived his golden years in a chimpanzee retirement villa.

Tower of Babel

No one knows for sure if the Tower of Babel ever existed, however, evidence supports the contrary. According to archeologists’ investigations, the ruins of the Tower of Babel exist to this day at the site of ancient Babylon, which is today near Baghdad, in Iraq. They discovered what may be the foundation of the tower, "a square of earthen embankments some three-hundred feet on each side", says a researcher. Biblically, the story says that the tower of Babel was built after the big flood by the descendents of Noah who spoke a universal language. They wanted to unite and be independent from God, so they would build a tower that would reach to heaven. God visited the city and as a punishment to their arrogance, He confused their language, so that they couldn’t underestand each other. They therefore had to disperse and never were able to finish the tower.

The Last Colombian Nomad Tribe...

Recently, about 80 members of the tribe, which included adults and children, wandered out of the jungle and set up camp in the south of the country, declaring that they wanted to join the modern world. According to a New York Times report, the Nukaks have no concept of money, of property, of the role of government, or even of the existence of a country called Colombia. They are a very particular tribe, they are very friendly even though they never have had contact with outsiders; monkies are very important for them, and women usually adopt and nurse the babies (when their mama dies) as if they were their own children. They also live completely naked, and all of them have a close-cropped hair cut with triangular bald patches; their faces are usually painted with red dye as a repellant for the mosquitoes. At the moment the government is providing them with aid, but is afraid the Nukaks may become dependent and lose their traditional way of life forever.
The Nukak-Maku tribe is the last Colombian nomad tribe in the Amazons.

A beautiful Love Story...

In 2001, a group of people were exploring the forest in Jiangjin County, China where they discovered hand-carved steps that led to a cave. The curious adventurers followed the steps and to their surprise, they found that the cave was actually a home to an elderly couple who had a beautiful love story to tell. Half a century before, Liu Guojiang, a 19 year-old boy had fell in love with Xu Chaogin, a 29 year-old widow. At that time, their love was not allowed because of the age difference—it was morally wrong and unacceptable. So the couple decided to run away and live in a cave where they could have peace and freedom from their society. In the second year of living in the cave, Liu started building the 6,000 stairs for his wife, so she could go down the mountain easily. Those were hard days since they didn't have any modern conveniences or food, but their love was bigger than anything, and they fed themselves with roots and herbs from the forest. They had seven children and lived very happily until the day Liu came from his job as usually and collapsed. He died in Xu’s arms. Liu and Xu lived in seclusion for over 50 years and never were apart a single day. Read more and see their pictures at http://www.hoax-slayer.com/greatest-chinese-love-story.shtml
